Hi Loral:
I'm now listening to your show on Hay House Radio ~ very interesting, indeed! When you first mentioned the report from Obama about the unemployment rate going down to 8% my first thought was "WHERE is he talking about??? What planet is he on???". Thank you for clarifying the misrepresentations ~ it is an election year, after all! I've diligently sought full time employment for over 3-1/2 years, and am currently on the very last extension of minimal unemployment benefits. Just recently I was hired for a part time position yet whatever is earned is taken out of UI benefits... meaning that my working 'income' won't change unless I get a job with more hours and more pay. Getting back to the point, the unemployment rates reported also do not include those whose UI benefits have run out, even though they are still seeking work. I've worked closely with the SacWorks Career Center ~ Hillsdale in Sacramento, CA for over a year and have taken all of their workshops, meet with the wonderful coaches there and network with hundreds of other job seekers. The number of people requiring their services has increased... not decreased... thus showing that the unemployment rate, at least in the Sacramento area, still has a lot of room for improvement. I think it's been at 12% or more lately. I want to suggest to anyone unemployed or underemployed to utilize the services at the SacWorks Career Centers ~ and find similar programs in their areas. The amazing staff at the Hillsdale branch has been my lifeline with their support and encouragement and expertise advise during dire times when I didn't know how I could or would go on. ♥♥♥
